Abstract

Ostracism, the exclusion of individuals or groups from social groups, has far-reaching implications for sustainable development. By marginalizing individuals and communities, ostracism perpetuates inequality, hinders social progress, and exacerbates environmental challenges. This paper delves into the intricate relationship between ostracism and sustainable development, exploring how social equity, human development, media and literature, social and political initiatives, women's empowerment, and corporate social responsibility are impacted. The research examines how ostracism contributes to social inequality and hinders human development. It also investigates the role of media and literature in shaping perceptions of marginalized groups and their influence on promoting or hindering inclusivity. Furthermore, the paper explores effective social and political initiatives that address the root causes of ostracism and foster social integration. The impact of women's empowerment on sustainable development and its potential to mitigate the effects of ostracism is also analyzed. Additionally, the role of corporate social responsibility in promoting inclusivity and sustainability, while addressing the challenges posed by ostracism, is discussed. Through a hermeneutics approach to analyze the secondary data, this paper provides a critical analysis of existing literature and empirical evidence. The study identifies key challenges and opportunities for promoting inclusivity and sustainability in a world marked by increasing social and environmental pressures. By shedding light on the complex interplay between ostracism and sustainable development, the research aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of ostracism. Ultimately, this study seeks to foster a more equitable and sustainable future by promoting inclusivity and social integration.
